What is health coaching?

Simply put, health coaching fills the gap between health care and self care. When doctors recommend lifestyle changes such as eating healthier, getting more active, or reducing stress, patients are often left to sort that out on their own…which makes sense because physicians should be focused on their craft: diagnosing and treating illness. And that’s where health coaches come in! Health coaching focuses on behavior change and lifestyle habits that support health and well-being.

I provide individual guidance and accountability so you can build new skills and learn what you need in order to improve and create sustainable lifestyle habits.

In our modern society it can be hard to figure out how to get healthy...between info overload, conflicting diet advice, busy schedules, and lack of consistent support.  Feel frustrated no longer! Together, we’ll figure out a do-able plan so you can realistically achieve your health goal…weather that’s eating better, reducing stress, or improving overall health.

Feel good in your body, ace (instead of dread) your annual physical, and enjoy the heck out of your awesome life for years to come! We only get this one life, so take care of you.

My core beliefs:

  1. Self-care is essential to health care. Taking time in your busy day to care for your health and well-being lets you give the best of yourself to those around you. And, taking time now to do all the healthy things will keep you active and full of energy for years to come.

  2. Small steps + consistent action = big results! Progress of any amount adds up if you just keep going. Do the work and before you know it you’ll create healthy, life-long habits. As a long-distance trail runner this core belief is my life’s mantra…just take one step, and then another, and keep going. You’ll be surprised how far you can get!

  3. YOU are capable of amazing things! I believe each of us is capable of so much more than we believe. Ask me 10 years ago if I’d be living the amazing life I’m living now and I’d say you’re crazy!

I like to keep things as easy as possible and I’m sure you do too. That’s why I don’t have multi-session packs that force you into deciding how many sessions you think you’ll need before we even get started. Also, you may just want a single session to check in, ask questions, and get back on track….which can be totally effective. We can meet for one session or stick together and build a partnership…I’m here for whatever support you need!
